II. When Direct is selected:

a.) Accessing IPModule/RAS ports:

No discovery mechanism. The specified server IP address/name is stored in the

registry.

If mode is set to Telnet,

When the application opens the COM port, MCSI uses telnet protocol.

If mode is set to Raw-TCP,

When the application opens the COM port, MCSI uses tcp protocol.

In both the modes above, When Authentication enabled:

The specified login name, password, login prompt, and password prompt are stored

and used to login transparently when the port is opened by application.

When Authentication disabled:

This indicates that authentication is disabled at the server and no authentication will

be done when the port is opened by application.
