EMC,Safety,andR&TTEDirectiveCompliance 

TheCEmarkisaffixedtothisproducttoconfirmcompliancewiththefollowingEuropeanCommunity Directives:

CouncilDirective2004/108/ECof31December2004ontheapproximationofthelawsofMemberStatesrelating

toelectromagneticcompatibility;

and

CouncilDirective2006/95/ECof12December2006ontheharmonizationofthelawsofMemberSt

atesrelating

toelectricalequipmentdesignedforusewithincertainvoltagelimits;

and

CouncilDirective1999/5/ECof9March1999onradioequipmentandtelecommunications terminalequipment

andthemutualrecognitionoftheirconformity.

InternationalModemRestrictions

Somedialingandansweringdefaultsandrestrictionsmayvaryforinternationalmodems. Changingsettingsmay

causeamodemtobecomenon‐compliantwithnationaltelecomrequirementsinspecificcountries.Alsonote

thatsomesoftwarepackagesmayhavefeaturesorlackrestrictionsthatmaycausethemodemtobecomenon‐

compliant.

Thisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththeli mitsforaClassBdigitaldevice,pursuanttopart

15oftheFCCRules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferenceina

residentialinstallation.Thisequipmentgenerates,uses,andcanradiateradiofrequencyenergyand,ifno

t

installedandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycauseharmfulinterferencetoradiocommuni cations. 

However,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinaparticularinstallation.Ifthisequip mentdoes

causeharmfulinterferencetoradioortelevisionreception,whichcanbedeterminedbyturningtheeq

uipment

offandon,theuserisencouragedtotrytocorrecttheinterferencebyoneormoreofthefollowingmeasures:

● Reorientorrelocatethereceivingantenna.

● Increasetheseparationbetweentheequipmentandreceiver.

● Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfromthattowhichthereceiveris

connected.

● Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVtechnicianforhelp.
