Iftheplug-and-playfeatureisnotenabledfortheinstalledExpressCard,ashmediacard,orsmartcard,
dothefollowingtoenablethefeature:
1.OpenControlPanel.
2.ClickHardwareandSound.
3.ClickDeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconrmation.
4.FromtheActionmenu,selectAddlegacyhardware.TheAddHardwareWizardstarts.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
RemovinganExpressCard,aashmediacard,orasmartcard
Attention:
•Beforeremovingacard,stopthecardrst.Otherwise,dataonthecardmightbecorruptedorlost.
•Donotremoveacardwhilethecomputerisinsleepmodeorhibernationmode.Otherwise,thesystem
mightnotrespondwhenyoutrytoresumeoperation.
Toremoveacard,dothefollowing:
1.ClickthetriangulariconintheWindowsnoticationareatoshowhiddenicons.Then,right-clickthe
SafelyRemoveHardwareandEjectMediaicon.
2.Selecttheitemyouwanttoremovetostopthecard.
3.Pressthecardtoejectitfromyourcomputer.
4.Removethecardandstoreitsafelyforfutureuse.
Note:IfyoudonotremovethecardfromyourcomputerafteryouejectthecardfromtheWindowsoperating
system,thecardcannolongerbeaccessed.Toaccessthecard,youmustremoveitrst,theninsertitagain.
